In May, 2003, students from Berlin High School, Colebrook Academy, Lancaster Elementary School and Bartlett Elementary School came together to exhibit their heritage projects at the Northern Forest Heritage Park in Berlin. In partnership with the Arts Alliance of Northern New Hampshire, the NH Council for the Social Studies and the Northern Forest Heritage Park, the New Hampshire Heritage Project offered students a full day of project sharing and experiential learning. Students had a chance to learn about traditional Franco-American fiddling with fiddlers Riendeau & Friends; they sang traditional New Hampshire ballads with Jeff Warner; they created their own heritage murals and watched a working blacksmith. Over 60 students and 25 community members came together to celebrate the North Country heritage presented through student projects and by traditional artists and craftspeople.
